I’ve been eating organic foods for the last 5 years and it has not only made me feel better, but I’ve also noticed that my skin is clearer. But are they really worth the money?
The short answer: YES! Organic food doesn’t have all of those harmful chemicals like pesticides and hormones which can be found in non-organic foods.
Another good reason to go organic is because you’re supporting small farms which means less pollution, less water use, and more jobs.

Are organic foods non-gmo?
If you’re a health-conscious consumer, chances are that you’ve heard of GMO’s or genetically modified organisms. But what is a GMO and why do they exist?

In the United States alone, over 90% of corn grown is GMO because it’s resistant to herbicides and can survive being sprayed with them. In fact, recent studies have shown that while herbicide use has gone down overall in the US, it has gone up as a result of GMO corn.

Are organic foods more expensive?

–Organic certification fees, which cover an annual inspection by a third party on the farm or factory’s practices

Are organic foods sprayed with pesticides?
When you think of organic foods, the first thing that pops into your head is probably “No pesticides!” and it’s true-organic farmers are dedicated to using natural methods to grow their crops. However, a lot of people don’t realize that these products are not 100% pesticide free.
The next question is then how much pesticides are on organic produce? The answer varies depending on where in the world you live but there can be anywhere from 50-500 times more chemicals used on conventional agricultural production than what’s found on organic farms!
Can organic food be irradiated?

The FDA has approved two types of irradiation for fruits and vegetables: ionizing radiation (irradiation) with electron beams or gamma rays from a radioactive source; and non-ionizing radiation (pasteurization) using x-rays from a high voltage machine.
There are some concerns about the safety of this process – but studies have shown that there is no significant difference between levels of nutrients or vitamins found in irradiated foods versus those not exposed to radiation.
When did organic food become popular?

Do organic foods have more nutrients?

The problem with these kind of experiments – it’s hard to control for other factors like soil quality or rainfall amount in different regions where crops are grown because they can affect nutrient levels too much (even though those things have a big impact).

As a child, I remember my parents always telling me to eat the vegetables because they’re good for you. And now as an adult, I’m still eating them but with a new perspective.
I enjoy them so much more when I know that they are organic and grown without pesticides or other chemicals. Eating these foods has changed how I feel about vegetables!

A lot of people think that eating organic food will help them lose weight. I decided to see if there was any truth in this statement by looking at the evidence and facts about this topic.
I found out that there isn’t much research on whether or not organic foods can help you lose weight, but I did find some things that might be helpful for those who want to try it.
Some people say they feel healthier after switching to organic foods because they are more nutrient dense than regular foods. Others have felt better when eliminating pesticides from their diet, which is common in non-organic produce (and may also contribute to obesity).
So why not give it a shot? The worst thing that could happen is you end up with an expensive box of good food in your fridge.
Will organic food feed the world?
The United Nations predicts that in 2050, the world will need to produce more food than it did in 2007.
This is largely because of population growth – as countries become wealthier and better educated, birth rates go up.
